Congrats to My Dodgers!!

In honor of the first full season championship for My Dodgers since 1988, I put on my players jacket and World Series Championship hat from back then. I have had these since I was 12. Still got the pins from the season in the hat too! Jacket is a little tight but surprisingly I could still put the hat on my giant head LOL. Thanks to my Uncle Kim Wicker for buying these for me for Christmas back then! And of course, for taking me to many games including game 6 of the NLCS against the Mets that year as well!

Time to build a brand new monster machine…my old machine is 6th gen and won’t support Win11…I guess it’s about time. I am looking forward to running some local LLM’s on that 4080 Super!

Steve Garvey #6

Ran into Mr. Garvey the Dodger Icon in front of the Omni Hotel in San Diego, CA back in July. He was in front of the hotel putting his luggage into his trunk at the valet station. Later I found out that the reason he was in town was for a pre-game event at Petco Park (SD Padres Home Stadium, right next to the Omni) in which they gathered the members of the last Padres Teams that made it to the World Series (1984 and 1998). Garvey was on the 1984 Padres Team after he left the Dodgers toward the end of his baseball career.

Anyway, myself and my co-workers were inside the hotel lobby and they pointed him out to me as he was loading his luggage into the trunk of his car outside.

I quickly went outside and approached him. I asked if we could have a picture and he was nice and gracious and we grabbed a picture together. He even helped me to compose the shot better! Nice guy and great to meet this L.A. Dodger Icon in person…..after all, I have been a Dodger fan all my life.

P.S. – He is also running for US Senator this year for the State of California..

Spark Plugs at an antique shop??

Found this pack of 8 spark plugs randomly at an antique mall that we go to. They are legit Motorcraft plugs new in the package from the late 80’s and fit my 70 Mustang perfectly. Only cost me 10 bucks. If I were to buy the equivalent in the regular auto parts store today it would be over 50 bucks!

Always keep your eyes open, you never know what you will find… I love the old Trak Auto price tag still on there…I got them for 9.95 and Trak Auto wanted 10.32 back in the late 80’s! LOL

“Imprecise complaints that are impossible to address”

This is what the enemy presents to you to take down your soul…the enemy wants you in turmoil that is not possible to resolve. You get focused on that “turmoil” and you slowly decompose your soul and sell it off bit by small bit to the devil until you are unable to think for yourself or even understand right versus wrong. “Truth” is then destroyed, and evil is in power.

I have said this before, many times, but the famous micro-quote of many a “celebrity” on TV/media is “my truth” or “your truth”. These statements are objectively false and purely relativistic. There is only The Truth and lies, that is it. Either you believe in lies or you believe in Truth, there is no “my truth” or “your truth”.

Planes of Fame Excursion

B-25 FlyingWent over to the Planes of Fame Air Museum at the airport in Chino, CA. Haven’t been there since I was 7/8 years old. It has come a long way since then. They have several large hangars dedicated only to the museum as well as a nice museum store. I love and have always loved aviation and it was cool to visit this place again.

Most of the airplanes on static display there are active, flying planes. You will see catch pans under the engines, etc. I love it! I love knowing that these planes are regularly flown and not just inoperable empty shells of airplanes. Most of the airplanes there are in the single digits of existence in the world. The majority of these war birds were scrapped after the wars that they were in.

The group of volunteers that works and restores these airplanes back to life are amazing. I spoke to a couple of them while in the restoration hangar. One of the gentleman was a retired airline pilot who comes up to the museum on most days and works on multiple aircraft restoration projects. Currently he and others are 6-8 months from completion on a 10 year restoration project of America’s first jet fighter plane, the P-59 Airacomet.

If you want a relatively inexpensive, up close and personal experience with history, this place is for you. Even someone who isn’t an aviation buff would enjoy this place. The exhibits are very well done and accessible but the “back room” workings are also very much visible to you (I love this). You can walk right through the work areas where active restoration projects are taking place as well as through the tarmac display of rough, future restoration projects. Also, as I mentioned before, the volunteers who are actively working on bringing these historical birds back to life will walk right up to you and tell you all about the place and what they are currently working on, etc. I love this kind of unpretentious environment where you get the professional museum experience but also the personal touch of the people behind it. No knock against the LA County Natural History Museum, which I also visited very recently, but this place beats it hands down.
